    I’m Watching

    Today is the first day in a long time that I was able to really sit and focus, to quiet my mind, stare at my children’s sweet faces, remember that I am a mommy and that I love it. Our days have been full of packing, shopping and event planning all week, and I have missed the kids. Our fundraiser event was wonderful. The people who helped us were selfless and generous. I cannot thank them all enough. God is showing us how powerful our support is, and that we are not alone, buoyed up by this foundation of His faithful children.     Twenty-five Percent!

    We’ve been asked so many times, “Why does it cost so much to adopt?” I never feel prepared to answer this question.  We have been through this process before, so we were prepared for the costs, and the faith required to commit to it.  I guess I don’t question it anymore. I thought I would include in this post an itemized list, so that the daunting price tag would make more sense to those who haven’t adopted recently.  During my internet research of adoption fundraising, I’ve learned that $45,000 is a typical amount that parents should expect to pay for any adoption currently, whether international or domestic.  So ours is…

    Fundraising Has Begun

    The fundraising has begun! Last Saturday we had a booth at a local Christmas bazaar, selling my vintage jewelry collection, and other items generously supplied by friends and family. Amy came up with the idea of assembling Christmas wreaths to sell, and she even volunteered to make them! I came to help, and found her and her husband busy in her cold garage, Christmas music playing, making wreaths just for us! What kind and generous people!
